Anne Double elected for Mount Charles

Thursday, 27 October, 2011

Anne Double has been elected to serve the people of the Mount Charles Ward in St Austell following a by-election caused by the resignation of the former Lib Dem Group Leader on the Town Council.  When the area was last fought politically in 2009 it was won by the Lib Dems.  In a devastating verdict from the electorate they saw themselves come fourth with a mere 14% of the vote behind both an Independent and Labour.

Following the declaration Cllr Double thanked everyone for their support.

The Final Result:
Conservative - 266 - 41%
Independent - 187 - 29%
Labour - 108 - 17%
Lib Dem - 90 - 14%
