Local Bethel Councillors Jill Trewhella and Bob Davidson welcome expanded recycling centre at Menear Road
During last years local elections both Jill & Bob called for better recycling in the town and are pleased to the site has been increased.
Jill, who attended the opening in her position as Mayor, commented, “It’s fantastic to have such a great facility on our doorstep and I would encourage as many local residents to recycle as much as possible.”
Fellow ward councillor Bob Davidson added, “Recycling conserves resources, saves energy, helps protect our environment and reduces the need for landfill or incineration. I have campaigned against the need for a large scale incinerator in central Cornwall and hopefully if we can recycle enough we won’t need one.”
The site accepts the following materials: Asbestos, batteries, bric a brac, cans, cardboard, chemicals, fridges and freezers, fluorescent tubes, gas bottles, glass, green waste, general waste, metal, oil, paper, plastic bottles, rubble, textiles, TVs and monitors, tyres, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and wood. The site is opens at 9am until 6pm in the Summer and 4pm in the Winter.
